Will Raiders’ Frye see the field in 2009?

Oakland Raiders
The Oakland Raiders went into last season with major question marks under center, but this year is shaping up differently. The Raiders have an adequate mix of experience and youth on the roster that will compete for playing time. Charlie Frye is Oakland’s latest addition at quarterback and could end up seeing the field more than anticipated.

He's fighting Gradkowski for the third spot and not much more.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Brad how many drinks did you have before you submitted this story? OTA's were just opened to the media and this is the best you could come up with? Come on, the Raider Nation deserves better than this.

1. JaMarcus Russell is the starting QB period!!!

2. Jeff Garcia a 4 time Pro-Bowler is the backup. NO DOUBT!!!

3. We are going to be a run first team, which means less of a chance for 1 and 2 to get hurt.

Charlie Frye will be lucky if he beats out Gradkowski for the 3rd string job (Gradkowski has been at the mini-camp and all the OTA's so is ahead of the learning curve). If he for some reason Frye makes the team and sees expanded time on the field, this would mean our season is Up $hit Creek and our O-line sucks and allowed our 1st and 2nd string QB's to get killed!!!

Sorry, but a Charlie Frye friggin' story when there's a thousand other more interesting stories to cover.

I think Frye is better than Gradkowski. Walter will be gone, and Southwick will be a practice squad member at best.

Frye will be our 3rd string QB this season, with options to be our backup once Garcia retires.
