Oakland Raiders
Although the Oakland Raiders have filled their depth chart with valuable experience, the young players will be crucial to the team’s offensive success during the upcoming season. The Raiders feature a surplus of youth at nearly every skill position and will depend on their continuing progress to improve the NFL's 29th-ranked offense from a year ...

Brad.............Although I don't agree with you over this year being a make or break for JaMarcus,I'll agree with much of what you've wrote.

However,I think you've missed a small point.....and that's how many of our coaches are in their first year with the Raiders or their first year at that position.I know you've just looked at the O in your article but, take a look at the D.John Marshall,Dwain Board and Lionel Washington are all in their first year.

On the O side of the ball you've got Ted Tollner,Jim Michalczik and Kelly Skipper moving from TE's to RB coach.

The point I'm trying to make is how will the new coaches and young players work out ? Some of these players seem to see a new coach every season.Different methods and views every year can't help.

You talk about the experienced players helping the younger ones,I'm looking at how all the players react to the new coaches.

Neil,

Excellent points. I agree with you that the progression of the coaches will also be vital to this year's success. On defense, the Raiders have a much more veteran presence which should help out in that area. However, the offense could be a mess if the young players don't produce and the offensive coaching staff fails to stay on the same page.

I do have to say that Cable seems to have really calmed the organization down and provided some stability during his short time so far. Hopefully that rubs off on the coaching staff around him.
