Another sad NFL draft in the sinking ship called the Raiders

Oakland Raiders
The Raiders finally got lucky. During the 2009 NFL draft, the best WR in college football for two straight years had dropped into Al Davis lap. It seemed like old times when the magical Ron Wolf and his scouts would lead the Raiders drafting war room. The Raiders drafts under the direction of Ron Wolf were of legend, sometimes adding hall of...

Maybe you just are not following football very much because you seem to be not very well informed. DHB is now catching every ball thrown his way and he is outrunning the world while winning great praise from one All Pro cornerback named Asomugha. Meanwhile, Crabtree apparently isn't even going to play football this year. He doesn't want his nail polish to be bothered. Why he dropped to 10 in the draft is now legend. The more teams worked him out the less they like him. A couple of teams with top draft picks and needed a WR proclaimed that they were definitely not drafting him. After talking to him they knew the truth. He is a prima donna who now wants more money that any player in the history of the sport. So, while DHB plays and shines, Crabtree sits and sulks. And if he sits out this year and goes back into the draft he will fall to the 2nd or 3rd round.

Iceman, you're a HATER! How dare you speak the truth about Al? LOL. Okay, I'm kidding. Way kidding.

DHB might be the most embarrassing draft pick in history (although our second rounder might be close). I was irate when we selected him even though once DHB clocked the fasted time at the combine, I knew for sure Al popped a boner and would draft him. Anyway, I'll stay positive and hope he comes around, but I seriously doubt it. I'd be willing to bet anyone $100 that Louis Murphy will have the better NFL career (I'm just thrilled we probably got one good WR this draft). Al has seriously and completely lost his bearings. He was once a great genius; now he's just a paranoid, stubborn old ego freak who's stuck in 1970. Football has changed a lot in 35 years, but Al hasn't woke up to this fact yet. Oh well, such is the life of a Raider fan. Beer helps balance the depression with a little optimism. Or at least it numbs the pain.

So, I see we just dumped off Burgess to New England for "undisclosed considerations." Hopefully we got a 3rd and 5th for him or better. I'm still worried we're completely neglecting our trenches. Al goes out and gets fast toys, but forgets that when you can't protect your quarterback or pressure the quarterback, fast toys get you nothing. To think we could have had BJ Raji or Oher instead of Heyward-Bay is maddening. Now Kalif Barnes goes down for 6-8 weeks with a fractured ankle and our incredibly shallow O-lineman corps is even more shallow. JaMarcus will be running for his life again. Will Al ever learn? Are you kidding me? Never.

Anyway, the AFC West is truly wide open this year. Too bad we changed offensive systems on JaMarcus, cause he was looking good the end of last year. If he can improve from that, we're definitely in the running.

Enjoy your weekends, Raider Brethren.
