| The first pre-season game isn't much of a reflection of what a team is going to be. Use it exactly as the coaches do, to judge individual's performance against various quality opposition. From Gil's remarks, Mitchell's the real deal and Heyward-Bey's hammy is in good shape, and is reported to be catching every thing his way, but a toe is now bothering him. He just needs to relax, heal up and save some for the real season. Zach Miller is rated as a top ten TE, and even this is conservative. With Higging and Schillens both having a year under there belts, he should have more room to work. Al's pickup of Murry was also brilliant and adds another reliable threat. Walker reducing his salary was both noble and helpful. He had breakaway speed and if the surgery was successful, still does. So given his age, he might be a dangerous part timer for then next four years. I'm not worried about Russell, he's got mad skills and even with his limited playing time, with out improved line he should get at least another quarter second to throw. A quarter second doesn't should like much, it's huge. Our running backs are claiming they are going to get 1000 yards each. I don't know if this is true or not but I do think they will easily total over 3000 yards as a group. With a better line and a Fullback named Neal, this guys are the new, "Toros Sedientos de la Sangre", because tacklers aren't going to be directly in front of these Blood Thirsty Bulls. With Coach Cable selecting 53 men for One Purpose, we ARE going to get THERE !!! | ||

| I hope we have improved against the run. That in addition to our 0-line has been a weakness for years. It is the reason we have had 6 consecutive losing seasons. Raider fans already have DHB going to the Hall of fame, but I still think this pick is suspect. Losing Barnes really shows our weakness in depth at the 0-line. We had to go and sign Seth Wand, are you kidding me. That is big problems. I don't care how fast any of our receivers are, if JRuss does not have time, it will not matter. I just do not want to be drafting in the top 10 again next year, but if we do, hopefully someone will address the 0-line. | ||
