Oakland Raiders
Randy Hanson, after visiting the hospital for soreness in his jaw, was forced to speak with authorities on the matter. When asked, he said that he had a physical altercation with another member of the Raiders staff. Reports around the world are pointing their collective fingers to Head Coach Tom Cable as the man responsible (the chants of...

You know the NFL will do their best to try and find the dirt. However the Raiders are notorious for stonewalling and not talking, so what they find out, and what they will do is anyone's guess. You have to wonder if this went on with another team, would it have even been a story. I mean this all supposedly went down over 2 weeks ago.

Anyway, I don't know if it's true or not, but what I do know is Cable was brought in to instill some discipline, and this story flies in the face of that. So instead of players answering questions about the coming year, they are forced to answer questions about this BS. It's just like last year when all the players were constantly bombarded with the Kiffin vs Al Davis questions. Hopefully, it won't be as bad, but if the NFL gets involved and decides to level suspensions, you never know.

On a football note, I was devastated to learn that Chaz Schilens broke the 5th metacarpal in his foot and will miss at the minimum, 6 weeks. This means he'll definitely miss the San Diego, Kansas City and Denver games, all division games that will most likely determine our season. I just hope and pray that Javon Walker comes back at 100%. Everything I've read, he's looked really wonderful and fluid in his training sessions, but we'll have to see how that correlates to the playing field when contact is introduced. This also puts even more pressure on DHB to produce in his Rookie year. Anyway, it's just a shame, becuas Schilens was primed for a breakout year.

I don't think anything will happen.Hanson is silver and black he's not going to bad mouth the Raiders.Even if he's pressed for an answer, what happens if he says he walked into a door ? Got hit in the face by a football ? Fell down ? Or even clowning around and got hit by accident ? The nfl have got no where to go.No police report was made and they were not involved. The Raiders should do what the Pats did and just refuse to answer any questions. No comment. No questions about this or I'm outta here.Whats a total pi$$er is that this will take away all the good work that's been done to date.

.........and then there's the injury to Chaz......Sh!te.There have been a number of English footballers (soccer ) who have had this injury and they were out for months.I know its a different dynamic with kicking the ball as compared to just running on it,but I'll be shocked if Schilens is back in the 4-6 weeks that most reports are saying.

I'm hoping he isn't a slow healer like Crabtree and can actually get healthy. This is exactly the type of thing that can nag a player until the next off season. We're all hoping this is the case.
