Oakland Raiders
So much for owning the Jets. So much for playing professional football. It would appear the JaMarcus Russell experiment is over in Oakland. However, second-stringer Bruce Gradkowski still seemed to suffer from the same issues, minus the “throw the ball to anyone with a pulse – regardless of shirt color” mindset that seems to fall over JR when...

First the bad news:
JaMarcus Russell refused to accept responsibility for his part in the Raiders' embarrassing 38-0 thrashing at the hand of the Jets. "I don't think it's me personally, I really don't," Russell said. "Do you?" Uh, yes, JaMarcus. We do. The rest of the Raiders players issued mea culpas, but Russell continues to deflect blame despite his wretched play. Source: San Francisco Cronical

Second the good news:
Dolphins beat writer Armando Salguero predicts that FS Gibril Wilson will not return next season.
"The Dolphins obviously made a mistake on Wilson in free agency," writes Salguero of Miami's five-year, $27.5M commitment to the Raiders' castoff. Wilson's poor tackling this season hasn't made up for his lack of coverage skills, and he may be bench-bound in favor of Tyrone Culver.

Bottom line I've never seen a Quarterback hand the other team 14 points in the first minutes of a game and not find fault with his own play. Jamarcus Russell is brain dead. It's not a matter of trying to develop him for the long haul anymore. The game at the NFL level is too much for him. Unfortunately it's just time to cut our loses. He's not the first overall pick that didn't work out and he's not the first over all pick that just happens to be a Quarterback that didn't work out. Unfortunately he's just a total loss.

Russell should be benched, but not given up on. The Raiders just can't afford to lose on this pick. Russell has no salvage value, maybe after a couple of seasons on the bench he can establish some desire.

We could have Peyton Manning at QB and still not win. Our offensive line is horrible, as are our recievers, and our defense is pitiful.

Holes? Are you kidding? We don't have any position FILLED, except punter, one corner, and one defensive end. We are a team comprised of only holes in the team. The biggest holes are our coaching staff and the gaping hole is at the top. We have a huge hole at owner/manager/egomaniac.
