Oakland Raiders
“He has the best arm I’ve seen since John Elway,” announced Al Davis, not long after the giant JaMarcus Russell was drafted by the Oakland Raiders. Unfortunately, Elway had the motivation, willpower and mental capacity to become a winner on football’s biggest stage, all things Russell has proven to be lacking. Looking back, we can see a history...

Mike.......

First of all you should be slapped over the back of the head for putting JaMarcus in the same sentence as those other three QB's !
Second,if Al is comparing his QB to Elway, when why did he get rid of the QB who broke all of Elway's college records before he was drafted by the Raiders.Didn't Andrew Walter have a strong arm ?

Jamarcus Russel is not, will never be an NFL QB. Al Davis swore on him and fired Kiffen for not going along with him on it. So Al, what do you have to say about your decission now? Strong arm or speed is not what makes a great player. All I can do is give you a few names. Rich Gannon had a weak throwing arm, yet he was a great QB. Jerry Rice at 4.4 speed out of College was below average speed for a WR, Hall of Fame. Marcus Allen ran a 4.4 at best, Hall of fame. We have guys who can pass for the fastest players in the NFL. What good is it if you cant do anything with it.

As a side note, JR once cut or released from the Raiders will never play in the NFL again.......... period
