Raiders’ ill-fated Walter likely to be cut

Oakland Raiders
Third-year Oakland Raiders quarterback Andrew Walter is modest, talented and down to earth. He's the type of young QB whom NFL coaches love; he has a gun for an arm and an open mind. Unfortunately, he's perhaps one of the unluckiest young signal-callers in the league today. Injuries, awful timing and an ill-fated second year will likely cost...

Very good final points AC. It's a shame to see our young QB go, but I don't know if we'll drop Walter when both Culpepper and McCown are gone after this season. More than likely, we'll drop McCown. Unless he carries a high cap number, I think Walter is a good emergency back for now. And the way Al kept Tui under contract for 6 years, I can't see him getting released.
With that said, Russell better get into camp before he starts losing millions.

Is he a first round caliber pick out of Grand Junction, Co., or a sophomore team captain from Phoenix? Trade Russell! We need team players not primadonnas

Sadly, I think you're right. Andrew Walter's NFL career may someday be summed up by his feeble attempt to kick a fumbled snap in a scrimmage. He's too damned shell shocked after last year's debacle of a season to ever recover. And that's too damned bad because the guy had talent. Ive always thought he could make it in this league, but you know sooner or later a person has to rise up and overcome the adversity. He really should have gone to the Patriots and had a career as Brady's backup, just the way Plunkett should have come to us. Sad.
