Oakland Raiders
Last week, this space was filled with points of pride for head coach Lane Kiffin in his first year with the Oakland Raiders. At the risk of being labeled a "Hater," I'll take this week's column to consider the non-sources of pride for Kiffin - one of this writer's new favorite NFL coaches - and the 2007 Raiders. The defense, in general. Wrote...

Well, lets be honest, the MVP of our offense this season, was not Jerry Porter. It was Justin Fargas. He did a great job in three of our four wins, and was the reason we were atleast respectable to watch.
Jerry Porter, I guess, could be the runner up. But, he didn't dominate in any game, and really has no breakaway speed. Ronald Curry, was disappointing, because he dropped ALOT of passes this year. We need a star Wideout, and A really good Defensive tackle. If we add just those two pieces, we can be succesful. And I relaly hope we keep Dominic Rhodes, he was a beast in the last two weeks. He deserves to run with Fargas next year.
People keep saying we should bring back Fargas, but before we spend $15 million dollars on resigning him, we should consider the fact that, he always gets injured. He has been injured every year that he's been here. I say, let him walk or sign him for a 2 year deal. He is way too injury prone.
Here's to the Raiders getting the third pick in the draft, we need all the help we can get in 2008.

And Raider Nation, there is reason for optimism. We play a pretty weak schedule next year. Raiders in 2008

Personally I'm happy that Ryan got the axe, J.Porter can leave also. Asomugha will be franchised, so don't think your going anywhere. Please draft a DT.

If nnamdi wants top money I say go after asante samuel. One solid year (last year) in my opinion doesn't justify top status. Teams didn't throw his way much this year. I totally agree,Fargas and Miller co-offensive players. Miller had more receptions then ANY raider rookie ever.
