Rams’ Linehan engaging in most dangerous game

St. Louis Rams
What does Rams head coach Scott Linehan have in common with country music icon Kenny Rogers? They're both gamblers. Linehan has, through addition or subtraction, addressed nearly every position on the team thus far in the free agency period, with one exception. A rather glaring exception. The head coach has done nothing to rectify the weakness...

This game scares the hell out of me. It's not just last year our run D has stunk but for a long long time. I truly hope he's got something up his sleave or some sort of angle that we don't know about, cause hoping Kennedy and co. can turn it around is no kinda plan what so ever.

Thank God my love for football rests with the 49ers because Linehan would drive me crazy with his off-season planning and execution. In an odd way, he's making my team better. Unless he is playing CIA with a trade or is a fortune teller with his players ability there is much to be concerned about...for the Rams. But at least their offense can score 35 points a game.

Rik makes good point. We haven't had a good run-stopping Defense for years...including the year we won the Super Bowl! That year we had a good ranking against the run during the regular season only because we had such big leads by halftime the opposition had to abandon the run and throw more to try to catch up. But in the Super Bowl itself, the Titans finally realized by halftime that they could pound the ball down our throats, which they did in the second half. Had they come to that realization sooner, they would have won. So the run-stoppers haven't been there for a long, long time. But what is most glaring is that this Defense lacks a leader. We haven't had a leader on this side of the ball since London Fletcher left.
Aeneas Williams was the closest thing we've had in a long time. I wasn't pleased with the selection of Linehan as Head Coach. As Offensive Coordinator of Miami, he led that Offense to a ranking BELOW the Rams Offense each year, so he's proven nothing. And Haslett has also proven nothing. Has his Defense gotten him a championship in New Orleans during his tenure? Imagine how he feels now...with New Orleans looking as good as they do. I'm willing to give them this next season to prove themselves, but I maintain that the Ram ownership made a bad choice in their hiring.
One test of a coaches decision-making ability is how he drafts...his assessment of talent. This upcoming draft will tell us more about the man.
