Washington Redskins
Recently, I wrote a column about the Washington Redskins and the concern the team had for picking correctly in this year’s NFL draft. Of course, every draft is a crapshoot and each organization is left with a feeling of uncertainty, no matter who is chosen and how those selections are graded. But it appeared as if the Redskins had made up...

Joe,

It is difficult to take you too seriously when you can't even get widely published facts correct.
1. Colt Brennan was a 6th round pick at number 186 overall. Not a 7th round pick. It just took a second to confirm. See for yourself: http://www.nfl.com/draft/tracker#tab:dt-by-round|round-6
2. Colt did poorly in the Sugar Bowl and the Senior Bowl but at the combine he threw 100% - literally. In other words, his passing was the most accurate of any other quarterback. At the time people were saying that his showing raised his stock. At some point someone mixed the events up and said he showed poorly at the combine. You must have just inherited that comment and vomited it back out without actually checking the combine results. See for yourself "Most Accurate Thrower". Follow the link and scroll down to Brennan: http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/draft08/columns/story?columnist=clayton_john&id=3266038

Tough crowd! In all due respect to Visom76, I have worked as a sports writer, reporter and anchor for the better part of 10 years and I have never claimed to be perfect. Mistakes happen, even to those who claim they never make any. In regards to the Brennan pick, I was off a round and apologize for the error. In all honesty, it was more of a brain-freeze than mistaken research on my part. Fortunately our editor made the necessary change and I thank him for it. As for your critique on Brennan's combine results, I'm sure he made some nice throws and caught somebody's attention. From your research, it apparently was John Clayton's of ESPN. I don't know if Mr. Clayton saw 2 passes that were 100% accurate or 20, because NFL.com reported that Colt had a poor showing. Mmmm. Who's right and who's wrong? Sometimes you can't be so sure. Maybe next year, we should fly to the combine and see for ourselves. Otherwise, I won't believe everything people write, if you don't!

Well as a 49er fan, I'm just jealous that we didn't get D. Thomas. Kelly should be pretty good too. We had a chance at both... GRRRR

Joe, I wouldn't have responded. You should have just taken the corrected info, and thanked him for it. With your experience you should know... everyone makes an error or two. Sometimes you write the correct thing down, and it gets edited incorrectly. (present company excluded of course,)
