Washington Redskins
Ever since the Washington Redskins closed out their highly disappointing season with a 34-28 loss to the New York Giants on Dec. 30, many have been pondering the future status of the former's star running back, Clinton Portis. The 25-year-old has been among the NFL's most productive ball carriers throughout his short career, but he missed most of ...

I totally agree with the assesment of this article. Trading Portis is not the right thing to do in the redskins case. The only possibility I can think of that I would even think of trading Portis away for is if it was in a package deal w/ Lloyd and Archuleta to a team like Detroit who is trying to fill a bunch of holes to free up some cap space. So unless that deal happens there is no way we should be even thinking about trading away the franchise running back. I mean those numbers are great that Betts put up but does anybody besides me remember the two costly fumbles he had?!?! Plus with an aging o line Portis pass blocking skills are way above Betts whose only skill better than Portis is receiving. Another random thought of mine, I think that the redskins should trade their draft pick to get a lower level first rounder and a high level second rounder to draft an O lineman and a CB. Just look at Carlos Rogers as a good example of a high first round draft pick bust at CB.

Ladell Betts went to Iowa...not Iowa State. (Editor's note: Our apologies for the misprint, Kevin. It has been fixed. Thank you.)

Portis, Betts one-two punch. I think Portis' stock is low right now anyway. After carrying in Denver and Washington he may not have a lot of years on him but he has a lot of "miles" on him. No one is gonna package trade for Archuleta. Especially not the Lions who have Mike Martz as an asst coach that knows Adam is weak.
