seems like pretty cogent analysis except you really downplay the sad state of the Penn State program. they've finished higher than fourth in the Big Ten only once in past 10 seasons [http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/07323/835114-143.stm], and they fail to develop key recruits [http://tinyurl.com/5e9yqd]. plus they sent way more kids to jail over the last year than they did to the NFL.

tatters? maybe not. but nothing to get one's hopes up about either.
