New Orleans Saints
Happy 40th birthday, New Orleans Saints! The Saints turned 40 on Wednesday -- All Saints Day in New Orleans, a city where Catholic Churches and houses of voodoo peacefully coexist side by side. I read the other day that CBS Evening News anchor Katie Couric, languishing in last place in the ratings race, said "Rome wasn't built in a day." Don't...

Another excellent article Randy. I felt like I was back on Bourbon street, taking in all the sights and sounds that flow out of the many establishments on this well know street; minus the Hurricane or Grenade drink. We Packer Fans understand how all you Saints fans feel. We also have endured many a losing season. I agree, it is very frustrating season after season being on the losing end. With many a game ending in a heart attack; to close for comfort. I am also a Saints fan and have been for a very long time. I truly believe the stars are aligned in the Saints favor. After all what N.O. has endured, the city needs something to bring joy and happiness back to the folks. The Gods are shining down on the team. Happy 40th Birthday New Orleans Saints!!!! May this be your year to shine and may there be many more years in the fine city of New Orleans. Saint Fans can now leave the paper bags off and be proud of the Black n Gold!!!! Go Saints!!!! And Go Packers!!!! ( sorry, but I had to say that).

As a connoisseur of the written word, I can only wonder when sportswriter Randy Savoie will be 'discovered' by some farsighted editor... When that day does come, and it will, many in the media will feel like the 33 NFL teams that passed on WR Marques Colston of Hofstra University (October Rookie of the Month) during 7 rounds of the 2006 NFL Draft.
