With Pittman gone, McAllister’s future seems secure

New Orleans Saints
When the Saints drafted Antonio Pittman in the fourth round back in April, it seemed as if they were getting ready to push Deuce McAllister out the door in the next year or two. But if that was the plan, it doesn't look to be anymore after the Saints cut Pittman on Saturday. The Saints surprisingly had traded up to get Pittman in the fourth round...

This article makes no sense. The Saints may have cut Pittman but got what they wanted in Pierre Thomas. Who is to say HE is not the replacement for Deuce?

Pittman was cut because Pierre Thomas outplayed him in every phase of the game and in every game of the preseason. Plain and simple. It has nothing to do with Deuce. If the premise is that Pittman could have replaced Deuce, that premise should remain the same with Thomas. But it's a flawed premise anyway. As long as Deuce continues to perform (and he will) he will be a Saint.

sean payton knows who he can cut and who he can't and he wouldn't let deuce go no saints fan would ever forgive him deuce stuck with the team while the were horrible and he welcomed reggie bush when most backs would have demanded to be traded also he out rushed reggie so I think deuce will retire a saint and retire a very very good saint

p.s no matter how bad indy beat us we will still be in the superbowl this year
