Nice assessment of the Hawks run D and their upcoming challenges this season. A healthy Tubbs is crucial for the Hawks and Mebane needs to play big to help provide depth and keep Tubbs fresh. The new safties can't be emphasized enough (not to mention having some speed at the #3 corner instead of Herndon). Wistrom couldn't do much of anything last year and was outplayed at DE by a rookie. Kerney will be a big help and Atkins should be able to fill in well enough to keep him fresh. Lots of good improvements and returning LeRoy Hill to the role he played as a rookie will only help. Only an injury to Tubbs or one of the starting corners could keep this defense out of the top ten this year. A healthy offense should be able to help keep these guys fresh too.
