Seattle Seahawks
It's all but official. David Greene is about to become the first draft bust in the Tim Ruskell era. The Seahawks' former third-round pick has failed to show much improvement in three training camps, and his performance last weekend confirmed once and for all that he will never challenge for the No. 2 quarterback job in Seattle. The fact is that Holmgren didn't want to draft a QB at the time Greene was drafted. In other words, it was a recipe for failure. As I understand it, Greene got virtually none of the reps in practice. As for his horrible performance in ONE pre-season game this season, let's not forget that he was constantly under pressure and the running game was non-existent, largely due to Holmgren pullling the starting tackles the day before the game. Basically, unlike the borderline retard, Seneca Wallace, who STILL has a private tutor to assist in learning the offense and still has limited understanding of it, Greene was NEVER given the opportunity to totally work with the starters. What the heck did Holmgren think about that debacle under Hasselbeck against Chicago last season when Hasselbeck played like a school girl? Honestly, I'm happy Greene is no longer under the "coaching" of Chumley anymore as it's clear he was never going to be given an honest chance to compete for the starting job. This type of thing is probably why Green Bay and its residents were glad to see Holmgren leave.
