Titans haven’t given Young much help

Tennessee Titans
Thanks largely to the heroics of rookie quarterback Vince Young, the Tennessee Titans ended last season by winning six of their final seven games and finishing a surprising 8-8. Young, in 15 games (13 starts), had poor on-paper passing stats -- 51.5 completion percentage, 12 touchdowns, 13 interceptions, 66.7 efficiency rating -- but always...

Man, the Titans piss me off. I was expecting the Titans to draft Dwayne Bowe, I get all excited because that's just what Vince needs. And they draft a safety who they hope to turn into a cornerback. I really hope Henry does a good job though. That would be a nice story. Get rid of Lendale White next season, that guy makes me sick.

There is a long while to go before the start of the regular season. There are a lot of "good" players that will become available before then that could help fill needs. You don't win games with a couple of studs unless your idea of football is stuck in fantasy land, you win with a strong core and the Titans have improved the core already this off season. I couldn't believe everyone was saying the Titans would take a receiver in the 1st round to begin with?!? The Titans don't need to score 6 touchdowns per game to win if they can put together a Jeff Fisher defense. Jeff Fisher is not a gun it kind of coach.....he rams the ball down your throat on the ground and wins with defense. With Chris Henry's speed and LenDale White's power, Jeff has exactly what he wants in the backfield. Furthermore, he now has a secondary that can and probably will become a shutdown group with Griffin to take PacMan's place and all of the Safeties on the roster currently. Now, with the ability to take away the passing attack of their opponents, the Titans can pack the line of scrimmage and stop the run. As for Drew Bennett, he dropped more passes than he caught the past 2 seasons...the only QB he could catch for was that lazy SOB Volek. Let's see how great he does in St Louis once they figure out he needs superglue on his hands. Furthermore, Travis Henry didn't start running great until the Titan's young O line gelled last year. They should only be better this year. The last receiver (I may be wrong about this) I can think of the Titans/Oilers taking in the 1st round was Ernest Givens. Unlike perinial flops like Detroit who pick early every year and still stink, the Titans usually get their best production from later draft picks. Last year, everyone picked the NFC East to beat up on the Titans and except for the early season game with Dallas, the Titan's got the last laugh. So mock 'em if you will, but with Jeff at the helm and Vince on the rudder you are blowing smoke if you think the Titans didn't improve where they needed it most.......DEFENSE!!!
