I don't think I'ld say they underachived last year. This is a tough team running stopping the run you got to like that!

I think Childress is moving the time in the right direction. However, the NFL is a what have you done for me lately league and, considering last season's struggles late when a playoff berth was there for the taking, and the fact that the NFC North is very winnable, he may not survive another season if the Vikes do not get to the post-season.

The Vikings might run, and stop the run, but that was their downfall last season. No Quartberback leadership, threats at WR or a defense that could stop the pass. That's why the Vikings missed the playoffs last season. The NFL isn't just about running and stopping the run anymore. The Passing game is crutial to any team, and without one, your dead meat. Childress still doesn't have a QB or any WR. So it looks like 8-8 again for the Viks.
