If Tarvaris Jackson can live up to the expectation that his head coach Brad Childress has for him and if they can get some decent play at the WR position, i think the Vikings can win the NFC North.

Jackson is the most pivotal player for the Vikings this year. If he's bad again and clearly not ready, they're in trouble. If he really has improved, as has been suggested this offseason, then they could win the NFC North.

As for Birk, the paper had an article this week where one of the columnists sort of "imbedded" himself with Birk and former Viking Mike Morris during a grueling workout that Birk apparently does multiple times a week. I won't go into great detail, but if Birk's working out the way the article suggested he could have one of his best years. And in the last year of his contract, not coincidentally I suppose.

The WR got better this offseason with Berrian, but I think a big part of Jackson sucess is going to be the play of his tightends. He needs to look for Shiancoe more on drives and especially in the redzone.
