| The Vikings defense over-compensated for the run at the cost of the pass. The Cowboys threw for 418 yards and 521 yards of total offense. In the end Dallas still ended up in excess of 100 yards rushing, but overall the Viking did do a good job of stopping the run. I still wouldn't call giving up 521 yards of total offense sucessful though. More like down right ugly. Dallas' starting defense had a complete break down on a 98 yard drive allowing the lone TD given up to the Vikings. Terrance Newman who didn't give up a single TD last season gave up the TD last night. The completion precentage for both teams was very good Dallas completed 69% of it's passes and the Vikings completed 63%. Those numbers should cause the defensive coordinators to inspect their defenisve secondary. The Cowboys offensive line whom has been in question all off season couldn't get much of a push to get the running game going with the 8-9 man fronts the Vikings were throwing at them. Although, they did not give up a single sack compared to last years 50 sacks given up. | ||

| Well, one thing for sure it shows that you can have a 1000 yards of offense and if you put up 10 points, the "D" did their job. Remember the old football saying,"Offense scores points, but defense wins Super Bowls." ChaChi4a20 OUT!! | ||

| the vikings also were playing thier 3rd and 4th string defenses to try to give them a shot at making the team. you cant put too much stock in the fact that the vikes were the 1st team to score on your defense. and we picked off both your qbs in the redzone, but you gained alot of yards on our 3rd string!!! kudos dallas, kudos. | ||
