Vikings’ defense must get more pressure on quarterbacks

Minnesota Vikings
The Minnesota Vikings' defense was an impenetrable force against the run in 2006. The unit was the most prolific in the NFL at stuffing opposing rushers, allowing just 60.1 yards per game on the ground. On the contrary, when it came to stopping the pass Minnesota was terrible, finishing with the league's worst aerial defense. As defensive...

Not sure if my previous post "posted"! - If Training Camp is any indication, there's going to be alot of surprised players and fans in Chicago and Green Bay! Looking at their fan sites is like looking at chipmunk traps loaded with peanut butter with Chip-N-Dale dancing blissfully blind near the jaws. They're just not seeing it! They don't seem to have looked at the defense Bible according to Leslie Frazier. - And, man, it's going to be great! Nobody looks as nice on TV close-ups as Bears & Brett Farve sitting on the bench in the last minutes of a game looking like they're going to blow chunks. It's just great! - You wanna see blitz? You're like for sure gonna see it!

I can't believe how many ignorant people make comments here. The Vikings play good all-around defense. They play a west coast scheme of defense where they give up lots of pass yards, but the overall system keeps the other team from scoring. The Viking defense is about ball control and clock control. Under this kind of defense you don't blitz or try to sack the QB (too risky). You let him throw it up and you win by counting on the fact that passing is never a sure thing...and you win by the fact that your offense controls the clock for the entire game.

When you watch the Vikings, your watching the future of the NFL on offense and defense. On "O" you hammer the ball right up the gut untl the other side wears out. If you pass, you pass for 2-yards right over the middle. On "D" you let them rack up useless passing yards while you dead stop their running game.

And stop talking about that patriots game. Anyone who followed the team knows that the real blame for what happened sits with Brad Johnson and Marcus Robinson.

Brad Johnson came out and tried to force a TD on every play. He didn't play west coast style and they didn't score a single point on offense the entire game as a result.

Had they played west-coast style, the patriots would have had half as many points and the Vikings would have dominated time of posession. So stop blaming the #1 defense in the NFL for the problems last year on offense.

"Go Vikes GO!" I can't believe how many ignorant people think that every so-called "Tampa 2" Defense is the same. Don't you keep up with what's going on in camp right now? Do you think everything that they're doing ISN'T what they're going to do during the season? Do you think that they use all this time in camp to pull some elaborate ruse on everyone watching? They looked like $h!t because on 3rd down and 9, you don't throw 3 yard passes, or attempt to run up the middle. Man, you sure seem to know it all! Tell it to Childress next time you two are out having drinks together. - God, are you really that stupid as to think they all run exactly the same style of Tampa 2? Do the terms "corners", "ball-hawking", "DE", etc. TELL you something? Have you ever even played football? Sorry if this offends you, but YOUR statement offends me. Don't say something so stupid without being informed, and you won't have to read things like this in return..."Expert"...
